The band Cream was the world’s first successful supergroup. Made up of Eric Claption, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce, Cream formed in 1966. They remained together for just two years, however, in that short period the trio would go on to create rock ‘n’ roll magic! The band sold more than 15 million copies of their albums across the globe.
In 1967, Cream released Disraeli Gears, which many critics considered to be their defining album. It reached the top 5 in the charts in both England and the U.S. The album also produced two hit singles, “Strange Brew” and “Sunshine of Your Love.” In this episode of Classic Albums, we discover how this monumental album was created and why it is still among rock music’s greatest works. Watch exclusive interviews with all three original bandmates, as they discuss their breakthrough album.
