In 1983, Def Leppard released Pyromania. The singles “Photograph” and “Rock of Ages” hit the top of charts and the album was certified diamond. After its huge success, the band struggled with a follow-up. Eventually, after four years, several different producers, and multiple re-dos they created Hysteria. It was released in 1987 and topped both the US and the UK charts and somehow managed to top the success of Pyromania by being certified 12x platinum with sales of over 25 million copies worldwide.
