Meat Loaf started off as an actor, most notably with a small part in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He was also an obscure singer with one album to his name. Everything changed in October 1977 when he released his breakthrough album Bat Out of Hell, which would go on to be one of the best-selling albums of all time. This mammoth album produced multiple hit singles, including the still popular song, “Paradise By The Dashboard Light.”
In this episode of Classic Albums, we discover how the songs were recorded, what techniques were used, and the inspiration behind the music. Get an inside look into the making of this incredibly successful album through past interviews with Meat Loaf himself and record producer Jim Steinman. Watch the AXS TV premiere of Classic Albums – Meat Loaf: Bat Out of Hell this Wednesday, September 27th at 9/8c.
