Sunday Night Rocks | April 29th

It’s called Sunday funday for a reason!

We get the night started with two all-new episodes of Rock Legends featuring the Yardbirds & The Byrds! The Yardbird’s innovations (a revved-up instrumental attack, controlled use of feedback, distortion, and fuzz) paved the way for psychedelic rock, progressive rock, heavy metal, Southern boogie and even punk. They are also credited with introducing three of the most famous and influential guitarists of the rock era: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page! The Byrds are known for pioneering folk-rock with their signature sunny melodies, lush harmonies, and ringing 12-string guitars. Their unique sound & eventual exploration of psychedelic rock made for some of the 1960’s best singles!

Next, we put the pedal to the metal on Rock & Roll Road Trip with Sammy Hagar. This week, Sammy travels to Austin, TX, where he is joined by Mick Jones at the Circuit of Americas race track. Sammy races cars around the track, then meet up with Mick to give an unforgettable performance of Foreigner’s hit “Dirty White Boy.”

As we move on to Real Money, Eddie’s agent calls about a big show in Reno, Nevada. After struggling to get the brood on the road and to the venue, Eddie and Laurie are faced with one more challenge when Jesse disappears moments before show time-forcing the band to go onstage without her! Meanwhile back at the ranch, Joe and Zach are left to hold down the fort, wrangling the family’s eight rowdy animals.

We finish the night off with a new collaboration as Van Morrison performs alongside an ensemble led by jazz organ maestro Joey DeFrancesco! This exclusive performance of jazz and blues standards plus songs from the Van Morrison songbook is a must-see, so make sure your DVR is set!
