This Saturday it’s all about the one and only Stevie Nicks! We’re celebrating her birthday and phenomenal career with an all-day marathon dedicated to the legend herself. This marathon begins with a little Classic Albums. Fleetwood Mac’s hugely successful “Rumours” was recorded in 1977, and was a blockbuster hit across the world. This episode tells the definitive story of the making of an album that has truly earned its place in the pantheon of rock music history.
Next, come with us as we take in the majesty of Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre with the Birthday girl! This post-Fleetwood Mac concert by Stevie Nicks captures this sensual and poetic artist in breathtaking surroundings. With Special Guests Mick Fleetwood and Peter Frampton, Stevie performs her greatest hits, including “Dreams,” “I Need to Know,” “Stand Back,” and “Edge of Seventeen.”
Then we move on to Rock Legends to learn the in-depth story of Fleetwood Mac. This episode features archive material, music videos, and details the storied career of Fleetwood Mac. Go behind the scenes from the beginning of the band in the British blues scene of the late 1960s, all the way to 1977 when the band released “Rumours”. This album has, to date, sold over 45 million copies worldwide, making it one of the biggest selling albums of all time! Don’t miss this episode of exclusive insights from music critics and journalists as they tell the story of one of Britain’s enduring rock bands.
We end the night with a few phenomenal concerts. First, clad in her trademark look of high heels and lace, Nicks kicks off the night with “Stand Back.” Performing songs from her comprehensive career retrospective album Crystal Visions, Stevie elegantly showcases her vocal abilities on “Fall From Grace,” and follows a stunning performance of “How Still My Love” with a cover of Dave Matthews Band’s “Crash Into Me” interpreted through the eyes of a woman.
Finally, enjoy a front row seat at the critically-acclaimed concert that was filmed for Fleetwood Mac’s double-length DVD set, “Fleetwood Mac: Live in Boston.” Mick, John, Lindsey, and Stevie perform their biggest hits hailing from multiple albums and decades including “Gypsy,” “Rihannon,” “Go Your Own Way,” and “Gold Dust Woman” to name a few.
