September 27 2011 1:41 PM ET
We won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Business and Economic Reporting in a News Magazine for the second year in a row for an investigative report: “The Mysterious Case of Kevin Xu.” The piece – produced by Kelly Buzby, edited by Dan Madden and led by Executive Producer Wayne Nelson and Senior Producer Elliot Kirschner exposed Kevin Xu, a Chinese businessman currently serving a prison sentence for conspiring with others in the Peoples Republic of China to traffic in counterfeit pharmaceutical drugs. These were not only “lifestyle” drugs like Cialis or Viagra – but also and more importantly, were counterfeit versions of life saving drugs like Aricept, used for the treatment of Alzheimer’s and Casodex, used to treat prostate cancer.
