Pack your ski coats for this chilling TrunkFest episode! This week Eddie Trunk takes a break from the summer heat and travels far above sea level to Colorado for the Vail Snow Days festival. The town of Vail sits about eight thousand feet above sea level and is surrounded by snow-capped mountain ranges and breathtaking views that set a perfect scene for the Vail Snow Days festival. Eddie takes advantage of the world-famous Vail Ski Resort and goes skiing for the first time in 30 years (Don’t worry, he had an instructor with him!) After hitting the slopes, Eddie does a little Après-ski (a French word that means any post-skiing or snowboarding activities) and travels to 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirits to sample various whiskeys and vodkas that are made locally outside of Vail with ingredients found in Colorado. Eddie also interviews some special local guests such as two news anchors from a local “First Chair” news show in Vail that reports on the ski conditions every day, along with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Vail, and gets some local information on the town of Vail and how festival-goers can make the most of their stay in Vail. Besides taking in local amenities, Eddie also meets up with Rock and Roll royalty, Duane Betts and Devon Allman from the Allman-Betts band. Eddie gets an inside scoop about their new album, how they formed their new band, and what it is like to perform at such high altitude and cold temperatures. Eddie also interviews Nathaniel Rateliff and Joseph Pope from Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and learns about the band’s formation and history.Put on your hats and coats on Sunday July 28th for TrunkFest at 9:30/8:30c on AXS TV!
