The Heavy Rock of 1971 | A Year in Music: 1971

The Rolling Stones, The Who, Zeppelin… what more could you ask for?

This week on A Year in Music, Matt Pinfield returns to guide us through one of the greatest years in rock music, 1971. After using a special mobile recording studio they built to record Sticky Fingers, The Rolling Stones passed it along to Led Zeppelin and The Who. In the studio, each band recorded albums that not only changed the year, but rock music as a whole, Led Zeppelin IV and Who’s Next. Led Zeppelin’s track, “Stairway to Heaven” became the best selling piece of sheet music in history and The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again” started a political and musical revolution. Learn more about this pivotal year in music with the sneak peek above, then set your DVR for the full episode THURSDAY at 8:30/7:30c on AXS TV!
