From Glam to Grunge | A Year in Music: 1991

Some love it, some (including the people who helped create grunge) hated it

This week on A Year in Music, we’re hanging up our animal print and big hair in exchange for flannel and Doc Martens to talk about the 90s. Former VH1 and MTV VJ, Matt Pinfield, is guiding us through the ups and downs of 1991. Generation X was tired of the glam of 80s hair metal and wanted something more relatable. That’s where grunge came in. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Red Hot Chili Peppers were the bands that helped lead the charge of the musical movement of the 90s. Learn more about this year in music with the sneak peek above, then set your DVR for the full episode THURSDAY at 8:30/7:30c on AXS TV!
