When we think 80s music, we think Def Leppard. Their videos dominated MTV, their songs rocked the airwaves, and their albums were flying off the shelves throughout the 80s. Their biggest, Pyromania, has been certified diamond (10x platinum), and Hysteria has now been certified 12x platinum. On the season premiere of Rock & Roll Road Trip, Sammy heads to Vegas to meet up with the band and hear all about their newest venture; a residency at Planet Hollywood.

Even though his basketball career may have end, Shaq has also released four rap albums, has become an EDM producer known as DIESEL, and has appeared in several TV shows, movies, video games, and even a few commercials. Recently, he has added to his list of accomplishments opening Big Chicken in Las Vegas. Sammy heads down there on the season premiere to taste it’s offerings and chat with the sports legend.

Brian May is in Queen. Need we really say more? Together with Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor, he helped to found one of the most iconic bands in history of rock & roll. They have played major stadiums all across the world and their songs are the very definition of rock & roll. Brian May himself has been ranked as the second greatest guitarist by Guitar World, and has been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as earning a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2019, she received two Grammys® for her new songs “Bring My Flowers Now” and “While I’m Livin'”.
Few people can rock the guitar quite like Joe Walsh. Whether we’re talking James Gang, Barnstorm, Eagles, the Party Boys, Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, or just his solo stuff, Walsh knows how to shred. Rolling Stone has ranked him as #54 on its list of “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”. He’s also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Even Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Eric Clapton have all given major praise to Walsh for his guitar playing. That’s how you KNOW he’s good. Catch him on Rock & Roll Road Trip on May 17th.
We’re ending the first part of season five of Rock & Roll Road Trip on an EXTREMEly high note with Extreme. These rockers reached major success with the chart-topping acoustic ballad “More Than Words”. The band is fronted by Gary Cherone, who may have something in common with The Red Rocker… he was once in Van Halen. Sammy heads to LA to meet with the group to chat about Van Halen and what their doing today.
