This week, we remember one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, David Bowie! Bowie was the leading figure in popular music for over five decades and acclaimed by critics and musicians for his innovative work. His music and stagecraft significantly influenced popular music, and his career was marked by reinvention as well as his iconic visual presentation. During his lifetime, Bowie’s record sales were estimated at 140 million albums worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time! In 2013, Bowie returned from a decade-long recording hiatus with the release of “The Next Day,” and remained musically active until his death two days after the release of his final album, “Blackstar.” We’re celebrating his life and legacy this Tuesday on The Day The Rock Star Died at 8:30/7:30c.
