The Day the Rock Star Died: Janis Joplin | Premieres October 30th

We look back the life of the iconic “Pearl” this Tuesday

Janis Joplin was a big-voiced, bluesy singer who dominated every performance, forged her own path and paved the way for the female singers who followed. Her electric stage presence and charismatic personality quickly made her an icon. She headlined the legendary Woodstock Music Festival, had 5 songs on the Hot 100 chart, and remains as one of the top-selling musicians in the United States. On Sunday afternoon, October 4, 1970, at the age of just 27, she was found dead at the Landmark Motor Hotel, just 16 days after the death of fellow rock legend, Jimi Hendrix. We’re dedicating this Tuesday to Janis, her inspiring originality, and the legacy she left behind. Don’t miss The Day The Rock Star Died Tuesday at 8:30/7:30c on AXS TV.
