Problems with one of America’s most broken school systems, Detroit Public Schools, through the eyes of its students. An update to our investigation looks at what happened to one graduate in her first year out of high school.
Deanna Williams made it through Detroit’s failing public schools system — sometimes attending classes where there were not only no books, but no teacher. In this outtake she reflects back on how her life has changed since she began attending Eastern Michigan University.
