Extended Look: The Big Interview with Ian Anderson

How Ian Anderson became an icon in ProgRock

Ian Anderson is so iconic, he is recognizable just by his silhouette: standing on one leg, arms outstretched, and playing his trademark flute. He has been crowned as the “Prog God” by the Progressive Music Awards and with Jethro Tull has pushed boundaries with their music and theatrical stage presence. Anderson started an interest in music at an early age, began playing bands during his teenage years, and then when he was just 22 years old, he had a #1 album on the UK charts with Jethro Tull. Thanks to Ian Anderson’s unique flute playing, the band stood out, broke records, and inspired bands for years to come. Get a further look into the rise of Jethro Tull and the life of Ian Anderson with this special extended look at The Big Interview with Dan Rather.
