The Stem Cell Revolution, Part 2; Chinese ‘Ant Cities’; Building the Wal-Mart of Weed

August 16, 2011

In the second installment of our series on the extraordinary advances in
medicine facilitated by the use of adult stem cells, we meet Amanda
Aswell, who spent most of her life totally blind… but now, can see.
Hers is an incredible story.

Next, we’re in Beijing to meet the people
the Chinese call ‘Ants.’ They’re young college graduates living
underground… in bomb shelters beneath high rise buildings… and in
massive, dilapidated slums. It is a side of the Chinese economic
juggernaut that you’ve never seen, and which authorities there would
like to hide. Finally, we meet some entrepreneurs who are trying to
create super-stores… for marijuana. They’ve got some big venture
capital backing them up.
