Dan Rather Investigates America’s Most Pressing Issues in “Dan Rather Presents”

Dan Rather’s documentary series, “Dan Rather Presents” continues December 2 at 8 ET|5 PT.

On Tuesday, December 2, tune in for a special two-hour event, as Rather hosts “Dan Rather Presents: Unwanted in America-The Shameful Side of International Adoption,” at 8pE. Over the past 15 years, roughly 250,000 children have been adopted into the U.S. Experts estimate that as many as 10% of these international adoptions could be ending in failure. In fact, this report uncovers that there are no official numbers, and no government agency keeping track of internationally adopted children on U.S. soil. In this hard-hitting documentary, Rather exposes the trauma being dealt by a neglectful industry, where many of these children are cast off into a twisted underground network of internet chat rooms by adoptive parents who have changed their minds. Bringing the children to the forefront, Rather gives a voice to these innocent victims who have been failed and betrayed by a broken system.

“Dan Rather Presents” brings new hard-edged field reports, in-depth interviews, and investigative pieces to your TV.

Dan Rather’s documentary series, “Dan Rather Presents” continues November 25 at 8 ET|5 PT.

Dan Rather examines the current state of the music industry in “Dan Rather Presents: Underground Sounds,” on Tuesday, November 25, at 8pE. In the ever-changing world of music, dreams often end before they’ve begun. With file-sharing on the rise, up-and-coming artists have been forced to adapt as it becomes increasingly difficult to profit from their art. In this informative segment, Rather interviews some of these talented performers who have made the decision to go underground, transforming New York’s subway stations into a competitive landscape where struggling musicians come from all over to make a name for themselves while attempting to earn an honest living.

Dan Rather’s documentary series, “Dan Rather Presents” continues November 18 at 8 ET|5 PT.

This series of specials kicks off on Tuesday, November 18, with Dan Rather Presents: A Crisis Inside The Secret Service. In this timely piece, Rather delves into the highly-publicized security breach that occurred when Omar Gonzalez jumped the White House fence, and made his way inside one of the most protected buildings in the world. Cutting to the heart of the matter, Rather sits down with a former Secret Service director, as well as respected scholars, journalists, and others, delivering a no-holds-barred report on a once-proud establishment that is now an agency in crisis. This first-hand account brings to light the real problems within the Secret Service, the ramifications of those problems, and the measures that are being taken to correct them, as Rather seeks to answer the central question: Is the President really safe?

EMMY® award winning host Dan Rather’s new documentary, “Dan Rather Presents” premieres May 6 at 8 ET|5 PT on AXS TV.

The first episode, ONE WAY TICKET TO NOWHERE: AMERICA’S MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS, is an in-depth report detailing how the nation currently deals with the mentally ill, who—by some estimates—make up as much as 25 percent of the U.S. population. The riveting report, hosted by Rather, addresses how severe this problem has become for the nation’s hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and individual states. One state in particular, Nevada, has drawn heavy criticism for its mishandling of the mentally ill. For the special, Rather visits Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital in Las Vegas to interview Nevada’s Director of Health & Human Services, and speak exclusively with former employees. Rather also talks to patients who have come forward for the first time to share their experiences at Rawson-Neal. The hard-hitting special also takes a look at the number of mentally ill who are killed each year by law enforcement officers, and new training procedures being put into place to better educate police on handling people with mental illness.

The all new series “Dan Rather Presents” brings new hard-edged field reports, in-depth interviews, and investigative pieces from Dan Rather to AXS TV.

Tune in for the premiere May 6 at 8 ET|5 PT, and share your thoughts on the new series with Dan on Facebook and Twitter.
