Steve Perry | April 16

American singer and songwriter, and former Journey frontman, Steve Perry is responsible for Journey’s most triumphant moments throughout the ’70s & ’80s. Perry was ranked no. 76 on Rolling Stone magazine’s “100 Greatest Singers of All Time,” and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Journey on April 7, 2017. Paul Stanley | April 23

Stanley Bert Eisen, known professionally by his stage name Paul Stanley, is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and painter. Stanley is widely known for being the rhythm guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the rock band Kiss! Though Kiss was recognized for their epic live shows, Stanley’s stage presence didn’t stop there! Paul Stanley was also the last person to play the Phantom in the Toronto Production of The Phantom of the Opera! Paul Stanley meets with Dan Rather April 23rd.

American singer, songwriter, actress, and activist, Cyndi Lauper, has continued her successful career over 40 years. Lauper has sold over 50 million albums and 20 million singles to date and has won awards at the Grammys, Emmys, Tonys, and more! Foreigner | May 7

English-American rock band, Foreigner, was formed by veteran English musician Mick Jones, ex-King Crimson member Ian McDonald, along with American vocalist, Lou Gramm. They are one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time with worldwide sales of more than 80 million records, including 37.5 million records in the US. Mick Jones and Lou Gramm get together for the first time in a blue moon for an interview with Dan Rather about the band May 7th.


REO Speedwagon | May 14

The American rock band REO Speedwagon was originally formed in 1967. Since then, the group has sold more than 40 million records and has charted thirteen Top 40 hits, including the number ones “Keep On Loving You” and “Can’t Fight This Feeling.” Kevin Cronin, Neal Doughty, Bruce Hall, Dave Amato, & Bryan Hitt join Dan to talk about making hits and the keys to their ongoing success. Billy Bob Thornton | May 21

Billy Bob Thornton is an American actor, filmmaker, singer, songwriter, and musician. Thornton has received the President’s Award from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, a Special Achievement Award from the National Board of Review, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has also been nominated for an Emmy Award, four Golden Globes, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. In addition to film work, Thornton began a career as a singer-songwriter. Carl and Rob Reiner | May 28

Travis Tritt | June 4

Country icon, Travis Tritt is an American country music singer, songwriter, and actor. He has received two Grammy Awards®, both for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals; in 1992 for “The Whiskey Ain’t Workin’,” a duet with Marty Stuart, and again in 1998 for “Same Old Train.” Tritt has also proudly been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1992! Boz Scaggs | June 11

American singer, songwriter, and guitarist, William Royce “Boz” Scaggs, joins Dan Rather on this episode of The Big Interview. He is widely known for his worldwide chart-topping albums of the late 1970s as well as the songs “Lido Shuffle” and the Grammy award-winning “Lowdown” from the critically acclaimed album Silk Degrees (1976), which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Paul Shaffer | June 18

We close out the season with Canadian singer, composer, actor, author, comedian, and multi-instrumentalist Paul Shaffer. Shaffer served as David Letterman’s musical director, band leader and sidekick on the entire run of both Late Night with David Letterman (1982–1993) and Late Show with David Letterman (1993–2015).
