COUNTRY SENSATION TRISHA YEARWOOD COMES TO THE BIG INTERVIEW, IN AN ALL-NEW EPISODE PREMIERING TUESDAY, APRIL 14, AT 8pE ON AXS TV
THE BIG INTERVIEW kicks off the second-half of its third season with Country music star Trisha Yearwood on Tuesday, April 14, at 8pE. In the hour-long discussion, the three-time GRAMMY® winner opens up to Dan Rather about her drive to sing, her marriage to Garth Brooks, her biggest regrets, and more.
Yearwood was born and raised in Monticello, Georgia, to a schoolteacher mother and banker father who exposed their young daughter to a wide array of Country heroes including Patsy Cline, Kitty Wells, and Hank Williams. The groundwork to greatness was laid in the late ‘80s, while Yearwood was interning at MTM Records. Using the company’s resources, she recorded multiple demo tapes and provided background vocals for a variety of up-and-coming artists including promising newcomer—and future husband—Garth Brooks in 1989. This would prove to be the first of many big name collaborations for Yearwood, who would go on to duet with a roster of music legends such as Willie Nelson, Roseanne Cash, Idina Menzel, Chris Isaak, and even Luciano Pavarotti.
Yearwood began to forge her own unprecedented legacy in 1991, with the release of the hit “She’s In Love With The Boy,” off her self-titled debut album. The career-defining single remains a major staple of Country music to this day, propelling Yearwood on a critically acclaimed run spanning 26 years, three Grammy awards, 10 studio albums, nine number one hits and 20 top-10 hits, including “How Do I Live” and “XXX’s and OOO’s (An American Girl),” among others.
Yearwood has been married to fellow Country icon Garth Brooks since December 2005. When she’s not rocking stages across America with her impressive catalogue of Country classics, Yearwood can be found sharing her passion for cooking as the host of the Emmy-winning series TRISHA’S SOUTHERN KITCHEN. Yearwood is also the author of several best-selling cookbooks, including Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen, which she co-wrote with her late mother.
