New Year’s Eve Marathon Features AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Willie Nelson, Elton John, George Thorogood, Among Others on December 31 at 11aE

LOS ANGELES – December 16, 2014 – AXS TV caps off the year with five days of music marathons that kicks off on Sunday, December 21 with AXS TV’S BEST OF FESTIVALS MARATHON, hosted by TV personality Ashley Eicher, profiling unforgettable performances from some of the world’s biggest live music events. Highlights include “ROCKLAHOMA,” opening the day with a roster of hard rock heroes such as Korn, Guns N’ Roses, and Alice In Chains; “British Summer Time–Hyde Park Best of 2013,” with sets from the Rolling Stones and Elvis Costello; and premieres of “Stagecoach: California’s Country Music Festival 2014,” with Luke Bryan and Eric Church; “New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival 2014,” with Bruce Springsteen and Eric Clapton; and the agricultural awareness movement “Best of Farm Aid ’14 – Raleigh, NC,” with Neil Young, and Willie Nelson, among others.

Starting at 1pE on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, AXS TV presents some of music’s biggest names perform Yuletide favorites. The festive block features “Chris Isaak Christmas,” as all-star guests such as Stevie Nicks and Michael Bublé join the crooner to celebrate the season; country queen Faith Hill brings “Joy to the World” with the help of a full orchestra and choir; and “Heart & Friends: Home For The Holidays From Benaroya Hall,” the first holiday concert from rock royalty Ann and Nancy Wilson, with appearances by Sammy Hagar, Shawn Colvin and Pat Monahan.

Then, settle in for a double-dose of classic rock and heavy metal as AXS TV presents THE BEST OF CLASSIC ROCK WEEKEND on Saturday, December 27 followed by AXS TV’S CLASSIC ROCK COUNTDOWN on Sunday, December 28. The fully-loaded lineup kicks off on December 27 at 3pE, with in-depth profiles taking viewers behind the scenes with rock titans Def Leppard, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, and Guns N’ Roses.

The party continues with AXS TV’S CLASSIC ROCK COUNTDOWN on Sunday, December 28 at 11aE, with a roster of classic rock concerts leading up to the premiere of the “Classic Rock Roll of Honour,” presented by Orange Amplification, at 9pE. The rockfest includes Def Leppard: Viva! Hysteria, with the ‘80s Metal icons playing their landmark fourth album in its entirety; Fleetwood Mac, Live In Boston; Led Zeppelin: Celebration Day, the band’s first performance in over two decades; and The Who: Quadropenia Live In London, among others. Headlining the night is the premiere of Classic Rock Magazine’s 10th Annual “Classic Rock Roll of Honour, Presented by Orange Amplification.” The legendary Red Rocker, himself, Sammy Hagar, hosts this explosive awards show honoring an eclectic array of icons and up-and-comers, held in the US for the first time ever at the world-famous Avalon in Hollywood, California.

Finally, ring in the New Year with AXS TV’s loaded New Year’s Eve music marathon on Wednesday, Jan. 1 at 11aE, featuring classic rock favorites in concert such as AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, George Thorogood, and Willie Nelson and “Rock Legends” documentary specials on Rod Stewart, Pink Floyd, Queen and Fleetwood Mac.
