LOS ANGELES – May x, 2015 – AXS TV celebrates influential surf rock icons The Beach Boys with a day of music on Saturday, May 24, starting at 12pE. The special Memorial Day Weekend event is loaded with the absolute best that the pop quintet has to offer, as the network proudly presents an all-star programming lineup featuring concert films, documentaries, and performances, headlined by the U.S. television premiere of Brian Wilson And Friends: Live from the Venetian at 8pE.

Brian Wilson and Friends: Live from the Venetian is an unprecedented concert experience celebrating the prolific life and legacy of Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson. Held at the Venetian Theater in Las Vegas, the career-spanning set list covers over 50 years of hits, from Wilson’s work with the Beach Boys to his latest solo album No Pier Pressure, and everything in-between. Joining Wilson on-stage throughout the night is an impressive roster of collaborators, including fellow co-founder Al Jardine and ‘70s Era Beach Boys Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar on “Sail On, Sailor” and “Wild Honey”; Jazz trumpeter and composer Mark Isham on “Don’t Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder)”; Capital Cities singer Sebu Simonian on “”Runaway Dancer” and “Don’t Worry Baby”; and energetic fun. frontman Nate Ruess on “Saturday Night On Hollywood Boulevard” and “God Only Knows,” providing a unique blend of classic standards and modern favorites.

The premiere of Brian Wilson and Friends is bookended by a trio of Beach Boys treasures, kicking off with the 2012 documentary The Beach Boys 50 – Doin’ It at 7pE, following the band as they record their first album of new material in 20 years, embark on an emotional 50th anniversary reunion tour, and reflect on their extraordinary career. Then, at 9:25pE, re-live the magic of the Beach Boys’ 50th anniversary tour with The Beach Boys 50 – Live In Concert, as the rock n’ roll heroes take the stage in Phoenix, Arizona, to play 21 of their greatest hits including “Good Vibrations,” “California Girls,” and “Fun Fun Fun,” and more. The evening comes to a close with the star-studded special MusiCares® Person of the Year 2005: Brian Wilson at 10:40pE, a 2005 concert filmed live at the Hollywood Palladium. The unforgettable event boasts performances from an eclectic lineup of acts such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Backstreet Boys, John Legend, Shelby Lynne, and more, as some of music’s biggest names come together to honor singer and songwriter Brian Wilson.

As part of the weekend’s festivities, the network will air a special Country music block on Memorial Day, featuring a five-episode marathon of the hit reality road trip series ONLY IN AMERICA (12pE), documenting fan-favorite comedian Larry the Cable Guy as he travels across the country in search of people, places, and things that define America’s history; as well as concerts from Country heavyweights Merle Haggard (5pE), Sugarland (7pE), Luke Bryan (8pE), Shania Twain (9pE), and George Jones (10:40pE).
