The Network Will Broadcast Over 21 Hours of Coverage from Jazz Fest, Featuring Spotlights, Interviews and Performances
LOS ANGELES – March 24, 2015 – For the third consecutive year, AXS TV will be the official broadcast home of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Presented by Shell, airing from Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3. The network will be on-site to capture the iconic event’s lineup of artists, broadcasting 21 hours of coverage from New Orleans. The lineup, featuring artists from both weekends (April 24-26 & April 30-May 3), will highlight a wide variety of all-star acts performing on many of the festival’s biggest stages, giving viewers the ultimate front row seat to one of the country’s most beloved music festivals.
This immersive experience will highlight seven hours of festival coverage each day, from 4pE to 11pE, packed with spotlights, interviews, and performances from some of the most influential artists in classic rock, R&B, and everything in between. Since its inaugural broadcast, AXS TV has covered over 50 hours, with unforgettable performances from nearly 70 artists including Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Robert Plant & the Sensational Shape Shifters, Phish, Arcade Fire, Christina Aguilera, and Alabama Shakes, just to name a few. In addition to broadcasting prominent national artists, AXS TV presents Louisiana favorites as well as segments showcasing the culture and heritage of Jazz Fest. The complete lineup for 2015 broadcast will be released in April.
In conjunction with AXS TV’s season of music festivals, New Orleans Jazz Fest viewers will be able to access festival-specific content on an all-new interactive microsite via www.axs.tv/festival/jazzfest. Using a broadcast alert center, social media updates, in-depth blog posts, minute-by-minute broadcast lineups, and a social interaction page, viewers will be able to stay updated on breaking news from all of their favorite acts, ensuring they won’t miss a second of their most anticipated performances.
