LAS VEGAS – LION FIGHT Founder and CEO Scott Kent today announced that combat sports media giant Sherdog will initiate coverage of Lion Fight Muay Thai events starting with the promotion’s first ever East Coast fight, Lion Fight 15, taking place Friday, May 23.
Sherdog will provide traditional pre-and-post fight reports starting with Lion Fight 15 and continue on with coverage to include Lion Fight’s organizational news and events, profile pieces on Lion Fight’s champions, contenders and the young, rising stars signed to Lion Fight’s growing roster. Sherdog will also present educational features on the sport of Muay Thai, such as video demonstrations of its rules and techniques and informative pieces regarding its long history and tradition in Thailand.
Upon hearing of Sherdog’s plans to initiate coverage of the Muay Thai promotion he founded in 2010, Kent reflects on just how far Lion Fight has come since his debut with “Battle in the Desert 1” in February 2011.
“Sherdog is an industry pioneer in combat sports and the fact that this respected media outlet is initiating coverage of Lion Fight shows how much we’ve grown since 2010,” said Kent. “Over the years, Lion Fight has cemented its status as the largest and most active promoter of Muay Thai, the most exciting standup fighting in the world. Now MMA and Muay Thai fans alike have an established news source for all things Lion Fight. Through Sherdog, fans can learn the rules and techniques of Muay Thai and read stories about our champions, contenders, new talent and world class events. Sherdog’s coverage will no doubt help educate and inform a whole new population of fight fans about this rising new star in combat sports called Lion Fight.”
Sherdog (www.sherdog.com) officially launched in August 1997 and instantly emerged as the leading news source in mixed martial arts, a result of its exclusive and extensive industry-leading coverage. Today, Sherdog.com is part of the CraveOnline network of sites that generate 9.5 million unique visitors and more than 100 million page views per month. Sherdog also possesses the largest fighter database in the world, which is fully accessible through it’s exclusive “Fight Finder” search function. The forerunner of providing 24/7 MMA coverage, Sherdog once again proves itself a combat sports pioneer in choosing to initiate coverage of Lion Fight’s full Muay Thai rules events.
“Sherdog is expanding coverage to include all relevant combat sports, and we aspire to give our visitors the same all-encompassing coverage of Lion Fight that they have come to expect from our MMA reporting,” said Greg Savage, Executive Editor, Sherdog. “My team and I are excited to work with Scott Kent and Lion Fight because we believe the future of combat sports is very bright. Muay Thai, a sport with a long and rich heritage, is very fan friendly and we’re sure our visitors will enjoy it once they have been exposed to the sport’s top athletes.”
