DALLAS (October 22, 2012) As the world recognizes the first anniversary of the death of the Libyan dictator, “Dan Rather Reports” presents exclusive details into the last days of Gaddafi and looks at what the future holds for Libya.
Crews reporting for the program were given unprecedented access to classified areas in Libya – from Gaddafi’s hiding place in Sirte to the charred ruins of the American consulate in Benghazi. But the focus of the report is on Gaddafi’s final hours. It’s a story that’s never been told before on American television.
“Dan Rather Reports” traveled to Libya with Mark Garlasco of the United Nations Human Rights Council, who directed a U.N. investigation into Gaddafi’s death and spoke with the only survivors from the dictator’s entourage the day he died. Also, our team was granted an exclusive interview with the Libyan rebel who found Gaddafi cowering in a drainage pipe, gun in hand.
