ROCK LEGEND JOE WALSH REVEALS HOW A WARM-UP RIFF INSPIRED THE EAGLES’ HIT ‘LIFE IN THE FAST LANE’ IN THIS FIRST-LOOK AT THE SERIES PREMIERE OF PAUL SHAFFER PLUS ONE, AIRING SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 AT 8PE

GRAMMY-winning entertainer Paul Shaffer brings his popular radio show to AXS TV, as he sits down with an all-star roster of music icons to discuss their legendary legacies and jam on their most enduring hits in the all-new original series Paul Shaffer Plus One—premiering Sunday, September 15 at 8pE/5pP.

The inaugural season opens with Paul Shaffer welcoming multi-talented guitar virtuoso Joe Walsh into the studio for a candid conversation and intimate jam session.

In this exclusive first-look, Walsh reveals how a simple warm-up exercise led to the creation of the beloved Eagles hit “Life In The Fast Lane.” “I had this lick that I played that I would warm up for a show with,” Walsh explains. “It’s a coordination exercise between your right and left hand.” The riff ultimately caught the attention of Eagles frontman Glenn Frey who was instantly inspired, laying the groundwork for what would become one of the band’s signature songs. Walsh continues, “Glenn comes busting into my dressing room and says, ‘What the hell’s that?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know, it’s just a lick I warm up with.’ And he says, ‘That’s an Eagles song, dude!’” Check it out here.

Paul Shaffer Plus One airs every Sunday at 8pE/5pP, only on AXS TV.
