Commentator Michael Schiavello was pushing the hashtag #ThisIsNuts. That should tell you about the kind of night it was as Legacy 42.
Legacy held their first event at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, Louisiana and the crowd was treated to an unreal card that featured 6 finishes in 7 fights! In fact, the first 6 fights of the broadcast card lasted a combined 10:15!!!
The main event featured UFC vet Anthony Njokuani and Lake Carles-native Josh Quayhagen. Quayhagen was a big underdog going in, but ultimately squeaked out a close decision win over Njokuani. Njokuani’s timidness at the end of round 3 probably cost him the fight.
UFC president Dana White was on hand for this event and the prospects put on a show for him. Ryan Spann dispatched Larry Crowe in just 8 seconds, Matt Schnell added to his win streak in just 19 seconds, Joel Scott delivered one of the best knockouts of the year versus Justin Rader, and 19 year-old Sage Northcutt made a name for himself with a submission win over Gage Duhon.
