Another exciting trip to Minnesota is in the books! RFA once again delivered the goods and even after scrambling to replace their high-profile main event.
With the featherweight title fight between Raoni Barcelo and Landon Vannata scrapped, UFC-vet Chico Camus and Matt Brown pulled main event duty at RFA 36 Friday. The two flyweights made the most of the opportunity, putting on an entertaining three-round scrap. Having just been released by the UFC, Chico Camus made a strong statement to his former employer displaying good defense and great takedowns to get the unanimous decision win.
The night’s best performances belong to Minnesota’s own Melvin Blumer and and former Minnesota Gopher Logan Storley. Blumer, half of the “Bash Brothers” brought the Minnesota crowd to it’s feet when he submitted late notice opponent Matt Murphy in the night’s co-main event. Storley, a four-time All American wrestler, continued his winning ways making short work of another short notice opponent (Griffin Lemetra). It only took Storley 33 seconds to get the TKO victory, keep an eye on that man!
