11 Years Later Affliction: Banned Showcases the Best of Heavyweight MMA!
July 19th, 2008. MMA was beginning to catch the eye of the every-day sports fan. UFC 86 wrapped up two weeks prior with Forrest Griffin beating Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the main event. Meanwhile, Fedor Emelianenko fought his final bout in Pride two years earlier and was on to bigger and better things, including being featured in the main event of Affliction’s new promotion.
The clothing company, recently banned from the UFC announced their brand new event scheduled to take place in Anaheim, CA. With the help of current president Donald Trump, who owned a stake in Affliction Entertainment, put together a hard-hitting spectacle of world-class heavyweights! Around 14,500 fans packed the Honda Center that night and were treated an incredible show of power, grit, and skill like no other. Fortunately, AXS TV was there and we are now bringing back the action for the 11th Anniversary!
