It was a sold out event for the RFA’s second show in Sioux Falls. After hosting the first ever sanctioned MMA event in South Dakota back in August, the people of Sioux Falls were ready for more MMA.
Just like their first event in Sioux Falls, RFA 25 was headlined by two title fights. The main event featured champion Justin Lawrence defending his belt against undefeated Sam Toomer. The UFC veteran Lawrence took the fight to Toomer early, finishing his opponent right before the bell to end round one. Lawrence retains his belt and improves to 7-2.
The co-main event featured a showdown between Brazilians Gabriel Checco and Francisco France. The fight wasn’t the most exciting of title fights as the two spend most of the fight on the mat. In the end, France’s ground game proved superior and he captured the middleweight belt by unanimous decision. The card also saw impressive performances from prospects Geane Herrera, LaRue Burley, and Khalil Rountree as all three kept their undefeated records intact.
