HDNet Fight of the Week: Jens Pulver vs. Brian Davidson at Titan Fighting 18

Back in May, Jens Pulver was out to prove his best days weren’t behind him.

The former UFC great and recent WEC fighter had flirted with retirement, lost six straight fights, and picked up just a single win from 2006 to 2010.

However, after a bit of a resurgence, the fan favorite headlined May’s Titan Fighting Championships 18 event against Brian Davidson and attempted his third consecutive victory.

Each week HDNet and MMAjunkie.com release a new and exclusive fight from the ever-growing HDNet Fights video library. Stunning knockouts, slick submissions, shocking finishes and legendary brawls are the norm for this weekly feature.

Pulver vs. Davidson is no exception.

Pulver (24-14-1 at the time), of course, initially was slated to fight Mike Powell at Titan Fighting 18, which took place May 27 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan. However, soon before the fight, Davidson (6-3), a former Strikeforce and Bellator fighter, stepped in as a replacement. While known for a solid ground game and polished striking skills, Pulver met his match in Davidson, an accomplished Muay Thai and taekwondo fighter.

So who would reign supreme: the grizzled veteran or the hungry challenger?
