Broadcaster Michael Schiavello said it all at the beginning of the fight: “There’s no way this one goes the distance.”

In a recent year-end fight at DREAM “Dynamite!! 2010” in Japan, Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem and former UFC fighter Todd Duffee fought for the first-ever DREAM interim heavyweight title.

Even the world’s fastest 200-meter dash didn’t last as long as this fight.

Each week HDNet and MMAjunkie.com release a new and exclusive fight from the ever-growing HDNet Fights video library. Stunning knockouts, slick submissions, shocking finishes and legendary brawls are the norm for this weekly feature. Overeem vs. Duffee is no exception.

The two heavy-handed strikers were expected to deliver fireworks, though Duffee, whose “bad attitude” prompted UFC president Dana White to release him in 2010, accepted the fight on just a few days’ notice.

Duffee (6-1 at the time) looked to rebound from an upset loss to Mike Russow at UFC 114. Once one of the sport’s most prized prospects, Duffee largely fell off the radar after his surprising release from the UFC. But against Overeem (33-11), he had an opportunity to derail this year’s K-1 world grand-prix champion and a popular pick for 2010 Fighter of the Year.

Would Duffee cream “The Reem,” or would Overeem earn his 10th straight win via stoppage?
