Josh Barnett, Anthony “Showtime” Pettis and Stefan Struve are the guests tonight on Inside MMA on HDNet.
Barnett will discuss his inclusion in the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix as well as his licensing issues with the California State Athletic Commission following a positive drug test.
Barnett seems unfazed by the California Athletic Commission’s findings:
“There’s 49 other states, there’s a gazillion different countries in the world. You know what, if every country in the world outlawed MMA, I’d still be fighting. I don’t need anybody to tell me to do it or give me permission, I just want to fight.”
Anthony Pettis joins the panel to talk about the kick heard round the world and his title fight victory over Ben Henderson at WEC 53. Ron Kruck visits the Roufusport Gym in Milwaukee where Pettis trains to discover the origins of “The Showtime Kick”.
UFC Heavyweight Stefan Struve runs through some moves with Bas Rutten and Barnett to breakdown his upcoming fight with Travis Brown at UFC 130.
It’s a big night of MMA tonight as the HDNet vault opens at 8 p.m. ET featuring fights from “Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Thomson”.
At 8:30 p.m. ET, UFC Middleweight Brian Stann is the guest on “Fighting Words with Mike Straka” where the former Marine talks about his service in the Middle East and his public court martial.
At 9 p.m. ET, “Inside MMA” airs and is immediately followed by the second part of World Victory Road’s “Soul of Fight” at 10 p.m.ET. featuring fights with Mamed Khalidov, Dave “Pee Wee” Herman, and Kazunori Yokota.
