Comebacks, Knockouts, and Brawls | Legacy 45 Results and Highlights

Legacy Returns to Their Finishing Ways in Tulsa

2015 has been the year of finishes for Legacy Fighting Championship. After last month’s Legacy 44 delivered an unusual amount of decisions, Legacy 45 picked up the slack with FOUR first round stoppages and two EPIC brawls.

An injury to Andrew Todhunter catapulted JC Cottrell and Ed Cline Jr to main event status and they did not disappoint! In a fight that last a little over a minute, Cline rocked Cottrell and then sunk in a standing guillotine. Somehow Cottrell escaped, took Cline’s back, and then choked him out with a rear-naked choke as they were against the cage.

In the co-main event, undefeated Caio Urugaui took on the always scrappy and follically interesting James “Whitey” Warren. Just before the end of round one, the Brazilian kept his undefeated record, knocking Warren out with a perfectly timed punt kick.

Also on the card, Bilal Williams vs. Canaan Grigsby and Kaline Medeiros vs. Kathina Catron delivered 5 round, “Fight of the Night” wars.

Here are the highlights:

  • JC Cottrell def. Ed Cline Jr via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) 1:18 Rnd 1
  • Caio Uruguai def. James Warren via KO (Punt Kick) 4:49 Rnd 1
  • Derrick Adkins def. Jesse Chaffin via Submission (D’Arce Choke) 2:56 Rnd 1
  • Bilal Williams def. Caanan Grigsby via Unanimous Decision (30-27 30-27 30-27)
  • Kaline Medeiros def. Kathina Catron via Unanimous Decision (30-27 30-27 30-27)
  • Emmanuel Rivera def. Wes Sharp via KO (Punch) 0:44 Rnd 1
