The finishes just keep on coming!
Although it was a new night, Legacy Fighting Championship 46 looked a lot like many of their other events this year. Five of the seven fights at Legacy 46 ended in the first round. In the main event, long-time Legacy regular Steven “Ocho” Peterson finally got the opportunity to headline, and in his hometown nonetheless. Peterson made the most of the opportunity, earning a unanimous decision win over very tough and unbeaten Irwin Rivera.
Elsewhere on the card, prospects Ricardo Ramos, Jason Sampson, and Rafael Lovato Jr. added quick victories to their records. Ramos (20) improved to 8-0 with an impressive display of grappling. Ramos transitioned from one submission attempt to another before defeating Cody Walker via armbar just 159 seconds into Round 1. Sampson made his Legacy debut back in February, defeating his opponent in 1:36. Friday he dispatched his opponent even quicker, getting the TKO win in just 54 seconds. Finally, BJJ master Lovato Jr. returned for just his second pro MMA fight and like Sampson, got the win even faster than his last time out. It only took 1:24 seconds to put his BJJ talents to good use, choking out Kevin Holland who had taken the fight on just two days notice.
