We enjoyed some intense matchups down in Atlanta where we finally found our new LFA welterweight champion! The judges stayed busy all night at the Coca-Cola Roxy with five fights going to a decision, including our championship fight between Jason Jackson (10-3) and Hemerson Souza (7-5). Jackson started the fight off strong dominating on both the ground and standing up. But Souza came back in the next two rounds, punishing his opponent with some brutal counter-strikes. Both fighters gave it their all in the final round before the judges awarded the welterweight title to Jackson with a decision that could’ve gone either way.
In the co-main event, Hugh Pulley (8-4) made the most of his opportunity to fight Demarques Jackson (10-4) after being pulled up from his bout with Tyler Ray. Pulley out-maneuvered Jackson for the majority of the fight, getting the win and handing Demarques his second loss in a row. Tyler Ray (5-1) who was without a fight until early this morning took down the highly skilled grappler Pedro Paulinho (7-1). The two battled it out on the ground, but the massive welterweight Ray used his size and strength to overpower Paulinho throughout a tough three rounds.
