Friday night, Lion Fight made it’s debut at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in California and the sold-out crowd was treated to one of the best night’s we’ve seen from the promotion. From top to bottom, Lion Fight 21 delivered the very best of Muay Thai.
The main event featured the long-awaited rematch between Tetsuya Yamato and Kevin Ross. Yamato won the first fight on Fremont Street back in 2013 by decision, but their would be no decision the second time around. Yamato was surgical in the way he dismantled Ross, slicing Ross again with elbows and ending the rematch in round one. Tiffany Van Soest has been on the comeback trail since losing her belt to Caley Reece and at Lion Fight 21 we saw Van Soest at her most violent. Van Soest took on the more experienced Chajmaa Bellakhal in the co-main event, and she put on a clinic through 5 rounds landing whatever she wanted and even launching Bellakhal’s mouthpiece into the crowd at one point. Also on the card, 21 year old Victor Saravia put on another show as he improved to 3-0 after five round demolition of Sam Poulton.
