New Japan Pro Wrestling is synonymous with the hard-hitting style known as “Japanese Strong Style”. What that really means is that the wrestlers who compete in a New Japan ring go at it 100%, testing of the spirit of the warrior. The second half of Saturday Slam this week will feature strong style on full display as two men from rival factions go at it in Kobe, Japan.
CHAOS member Hirooki Goto is always on the cusp of greatness. The forever redemption story is of this great athlete’s career where he seemingly always makes it close enough to spot the IWGP World Championship but then it goes away in a flash. The match this weekend isn’t for that prized possession but every match in New Japan matters. Goto is climbing the ladder once again, but the rung he needs to get past is arguably New Japan’s hottest sensation – Shingo Takagi. For one year, Los Ingobernables de Japon’s newest member has the world talking about him. His own strong style approach left the junior heavyweight division in a rubble, and now that he is in the heavyweight division, he is doing the exact same thing. Impressing more fans from his G1 performance, the future looks bright enough to cast a shadow on Goto.
This epic matchup between these two warriors goes down THIS SATURDAY NIGHT 9/8c!
