Steven Peterson Wins Gold at Legacy 56 | Results and Highlights

It was a Hollywood-type night for Steven Peterson at Legacy 56. Peterson aka “Ocho” has been a Legacy regular since 2011. Early on he embraced the role of “villain” and at Legacy 19 in 2013 he suffered a massive KO at the hands of George Pacurariu. Since that fight Peterson has been undefeated and in his tenth appearance with Legacy, he finally got a shot at the title. In the main event at Legacy 56, Peterson squared off with defending bantamweight champ Manny Vazquez.  The fight went into the championship rounds before Peterson choked Vazquez to sleep in round four to become the NEW 135 pound champ.

In other action, Jason Sampson kept his impressive win streak going in the co-main event, JC Cottrell edged Cody Walker in a very entertaining fight, and 22 year-old Miles Johns put on a show in the opening fight of the night.

Here are the highlights:

  • Steven Peterson def. Manny Vazquez via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) 3:08 Round 4
  • Jason Sampson def. Ryan Hollis via Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-26)
  • Levi Mowles def. Edwin Figueroa via Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
  • JC Cottrell def. Cody Walker via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-27)
  • Bilal Williams def. Sean Holden via TKO (Ref Stoppage) 3:13 Round 1
  • Miles Johns def. Eliazar Rodriguez via TKO (Punches) 0:38 Round 2
