Double the Performances, Double the Pressure – The X Factor UK Week 14 Recap
For the first time this season, our contestants had to take on TWO tracks to earn their spot in the semi-finals.
This week brought us two themes: The X Factor Jukebox, where the public picked the contestants’ songs, and Judges’ choice. Louisa Johnson opened the evening by showing a different side of herself with a current pop hit, Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself”, followed by 4th Impact slowing it down with a ballad (and one seriously killer high note), then Reggie N Bollie picked it back up again with a thrilling rendition of “Whip/Nae Nae”, that even Cheryl herself couldn’t help but jump on stage and dance along to. Lauren Murray stepped away from her usual “diva” alter-ego to take on Kygo’s Firestone and Grace’s “You Don’t Own Me” and after being in the bottom two last week, Ché Chesterman was clearly rattled and forgot the lyrics to his first song, but redeemed himself with his second.
After a night filled with dazzling performances, we couldn’t even begin to think about who would be in the bottom two. One by one it was revealed that Louisa, Ché, and Reggie N Bollie were safe and Lauren and 4th Impact would have to battle it out for the coveted spot in our final four. Both delivered flawless performances in the sing-off, but the decision ultimately went to deadlock and back to the public vote, where 4th Impact was sent home. Check out the week in videos below and catch the next round of lives Sunday and Monday 8/7c on AXS TV!
Reggie N Bollie were joined onstage by both their kids and their mentor Cheryl for one seriously entertaining performance and we were able to watch them Whip & Nae Nae their way to the final four!
After being in the bottom two last week and forgetting the words to his first song, the pressure was on for Ché Chesterman, but this cover of Otis Redding’s “Try a Little Tenderness” earned him a spot in next week’s show!
Rita Ora picked this slightly jazzy tune for Lauren Murray, and everyone was blown away! She was sent to the bottom two, but was able to save herself and move on to the semi-finals.
4th Impact gave another perfect performance with perfect harmonies, but unfortunately were sent home. We know we will be seeing these girls again soon!
