Keeping Up with The X Factor UK Contestants
Lauren, Andrea, Fleur, and Ben have been busy since we saw them last December
Recording albums, venturing into fashion design, and big announcements coming soon. While we’re revving up to meet an entire new cast of X Factor UK contestants for Season 12, find out what the final four from season 11 are up to!
After Ben Haenow was crowned the winner of The X Factor UK, his first single, a cover of One Republic’s “Something I Need”, debuted at the #1 spot on the UK singles chart and became the second-fastest selling single of the year. On his 30th birthday, Haenow got the gift of a lifetime: a record deal with Syco Music. He’s currently working on recording his debut album and Haeniacs be warned, big news is on the horizon.

Although Fleur East was the runner-up of season 11, she made a huge impression on mentor Simon Cowell, who signed her to his own record label. Her show stopping performance of “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson earned her a number one on the UK iTunes Store & a number UK Single. On July 14th, East landed in LA and began working in the studio on her debut full-length album. She’s also showcasing her talent as a fashion designer and is working on a clothing line with Lipsy London.
Andrea Faustini, the Italian bear with the big heart and even bigger voice, is still giving us goosebumps. After finishing third at the finale, Faustini signed a record deal with RCA records. He released his first feel-good single, “Give a Little Love,” on June 2nd, followed by an entire album titled Kelly, on July 17th. We suggest buying a box of tissues with the album, because it will definitely give you the feels.
Lauren Platt was only 16 when she entered The X Factor UK competition, but blew us away week after week, making her the youngest solo contestant to reach the live finals. In week nine, she was eliminated and finished in fourth place. Since then, she released a cover of the song “King” by Years & Years, which has earned strong radio play. She’s also taken to YouTube to document her daily life and beauty tips in her vlog, earning her over 10,000 subscribers.
