Redemption Time Has Come – The X Factor UK Week 3 Recap
It was the week for second chances, flirty contestants, and a very stern Simon Cowell
This week started out on a light note, when (self-proclaimed) Catherine Zeta-Jones’ doppleganger Jenesa Gill proved her “Hips Don’t Lie” and planted a smooch on Simon. But things quickly took a dramatic turn. We were first shocked to see the return of girl group Rumour Has It, who was put together last season just to get a no from Louis Walsh at Judges’ Houses, as well as Monica Michael, who killed her audition with a song she wrote for her little sister, but was let go during the Six Chair Challenge by Cheryl.
Night two was no different. Brodie Kelly didn’t even make it past the first round last year, but tried his luck again, this time earning rave reviews (and a heaping portion of loving eyes from one Rita Ora). However, the love stopped there, when contestant Mary O’Sullivan decided to retaliate against the “severe” and “caustic” Simon Cowell. Check out the entire weekend in videos below & tune in for more #UKintheUSA every Sunday and Monday 8/7c!
Jenesa Gill earned four yeses for her hip-shaking performance, getting her one step closer to the love her life, Simon Cowell.
Two members may have left Rumour Has It since we saw them last season, but they came back even stronger and got a unanimous yes from the judges.
After belting out this Christina Aguilera tune, it was “Impossible” not to put Monica Michael through to boot camp.
Brodie Kelley immediately impressed the judges with his appearance. Thankfully, his voice was just as impressive and he got pushed through to the next round.
Mary O’Sullivan started off sweet, but didn’t want to take the judge’s 4 nos as an answer. She called them out for being a “very mean bunch” and left still believing she had a great voice.
