The Feels (and the Dance Party) Continue – The X Factor UK Week 2 Recap
The second week of auditions brought killer voices, choreography, and waterworks to AXS TV
After a very emotional week one, we were prepared with tissues for another two days of auditions. Thankfully, we were able to take a break from our sob sessions, and instead bust out our best dance moves, enjoying what the judge’s lovingly call the “Fleur East Effect”. Girl group Alien brought the heat with a smashing version of Black Eyed Peas’ “Pump It,” followed by sultry Bupsi‘s raunchy rendition of “Rock Me Baby” by Tina Turner, and one the longest X Factor auditions ever by Joselito Peralta, who’s hip-shaking earned him a pass to Boot Camp. We also learned one valuable lesson this weekend: never judge a book by its cover. For proof, we suggest watching the judge’s reactions to Che Chesterman, Anton Stephans, and farm girl Hannah Marie Kilminster‘s shocking auditions. Check out the entire weekend in videos below & tune in for more #UKintheUSA every Sunday and Monday 8/7c!
After a long string of disappointing auditions, it was up to Simon Lynch to change the course of the night. We can safely say that he was successful after receiving a strong four yeses from the judges.
Simon wasn’t amused when “too nice” Bupsi began her audition, so he asked her to “get nasty.” And let’s just say that she didn’t disappoint in fulfilling that request.
18 year old Che Chesterman quit his job for his audition. Thank goodness he did because his performance, especially his perfect falsetto, gave us all the feels and got him through to boot camp.
Anton Stephans has worked for years as a backup singer for Tina Turner. After this audition, we’re pretty positive he won’t ever have to sing backup again.
From the very first note, the judges were shocked that Hannah Marie Kilminster had spent her life on a farm instead of on a stage. She proved to the judges that she’s “Somebody to Love” and got a unanimous yes.
