The X Factor UK Results Show Quarterfinal Recap
Double performances meant double trouble as we said goodbye to our final group
Each of the final five acts sang two songs from the Jukebox for the X Factor Judges in a bid to make it into the semi finals. It was a night of drama filled with tears, showstopping performances and dancing. We’ll skip our usual sentences upon sentences of excellent prose and go straight to the video recap…
Ben Haenow opened the show with “Come Together” by The Beatles, chosen by some band called One Direction. His raspy vocals delighted Mel B and Cheryl. They were less delgithed by his version of “Thinking Out Loud” which was chosen by the public.
Cheryl gave Lauren Platt strep throat and it certainly affected her first performance “Clarity” chosen by Little Mix. However, her second performance “Don’t You Worry Child” drew praises from all four judges, including Simon who said it “saved her”
Tulisa made her first appearance since judges house to choose “Just The Way You Are” for Stereo Kicks. The judges weren’t overly impressed. It seems they did much better with “Run”, which was the first song they ever sang together
Fleur East continued her charge to the finals by first taking on “A Fool In Love” as chosen by Emeli Sande, and then “If I Ain’t Got You”
Andrea wowed with “Chandelier”, and then took the world by storm by performing “Hero” by Mariah Carey, including an OMG inducing verse in his native tongue. Forever a fan, Cheryl said the Italian bear had a “great night”
We’re down to the point where no one is safe, as proven by Lauren Platt being voted into the singoff against….
Stereo Kicks. The boys gave it their all, and Louis and Mel B voted for them to stay…
But Simon and Cheryl voted to save Lauren. So we went to deadlock…
And Stereo Kicks were eliminated.
