What Went Down When We Went Live – The X Factor UK Week 10 Recap
Live episodes came in with a bang… and with a shocking double elimination.
For the first episode of lives, the contestants were faced with the challenge of showing who they really are as a performer with the theme, “This is Me”. Mason Noise redeemed himself (even with Simon!) with a cover of Justin Bieber’s “Sorry”, Louisa Johnson dazzled yet again with a Beach Boys classic, and Monica Michael proved she deserved to be this year’s wildcard. However, while these contestants flourished, some weren’t feeling the love from the judges. Max Stone received mixed reviews for his reggae spin on Adele’s “Someone Like You” and Bupsi didn’t quite bring the requisite amount of nasty expected of her.
After the first live performances, Monday brought the first live elimination… or should we say eliminations? Two contestants had to leave this week. First, was Bupsi for receiving the fewest amount of votes. Then, it was revealed that Alien Uncovered and Kiera Weathers would have to face the music and sing for survival. Ultimately, the judges decided to send Alien Uncovered packing. Check out the week in videos below and see who will make it through the next round of lives Sunday and Monday 8/7c on AXS TV!
Louisa Johnson didn’t even know this song before she was assigned to sing it, but the 17 year old powerhouse vocalist proved she can conquer just about anything.
Monica Michael was given a second chance and did not disappoint with this performance of Ed Sheeran’s “Make It Rain.”
Max Stone took a risk by turning Adele’s classic “Someone Like You” into a reggae track. Some of the judges liked it, some didn’t, but the public voted him through o the next round!
Kiera Weathers was put into the bottom three and had to sing for her life with R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts,” which thankfully got her a spot in next week’s show!
Alien Uncovered were feeling the “Pressure” during their sing-off. They were unfortunately sent home along with Bupsi.
