Music’s Greatest Mysteries Returns to AXS TV with New Episodes Beginning July 7

    June 11, 2021

    Posted in: Music's Greatest Mysteries

Starting Wednesday, July 7th, dive into the myths & legends of music’s biggest stars

Music’s Greatest Mysteries presents an immersive journey that puts the spotlight on the infamous legends, colorful characters, and monumental moments that have confounded and intrigued generations of music lovers throughout the years. Separating fact from fiction, the series blends insightful commentary from icons and experts, with archive footage and dramatic reinterpretations to answer the “whys” and “hows” of each new topic.

The slate of new episodes kicks off on July 7 with a packed premiere, exploring whether the airplane crash that claimed the life of guitar prodigy Randy Rhoads was an accident or a prank gone wrong, with a panel that includes Rhoads’ siblings Kathy and Kelle Rhoads, his friend and former bandmate Rudy Sarzo, and rock legacy Ahmet Zappa. Then, Music’s Greatest Mysteries delves into the feud between Country titans LeAnn Rimes and Trisha Yearwood, whose dueling versions of “How Do I Live” sparked an industry-shaking clash that extended all the way to the GRAMMYS®; and YouTube star Justin Whang examines the unknown origins of the song known simply as “The Most Mysterious Song on The Internet.”

Other topics include Who Gave Birth To Rock’s ‘Devil Horns’? (July 14); Who Was Beyoncé’s ‘Becky With The Good Hair’? (July 21); Did David Bowie Resurrect Tina Turner’s Career? (Aug. 4); and How Did Willie Nelson Beat The IRS? (Aug. 11). The series also digs into whether or not a Chicago DJ’s publicity stunt did in fact destroy disco in The Night Disco Died (Aug. 4); The Immortality Of Tupac Shakur (July 14); and the unexpected connection between Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” karaoke and a disturbing list of murders in the Philippines (Aug. 11), among others.
