When Perry Farrell was growing up, he wasn’t sure if he was going to make it as a musician. While he loved singing, his parents didn’t let him play an instrument. That is until he went to California and he found punk rock, where you didn’t necessarily have to be an adept musician, but you had to have personality. Farrell thought he fit the bill and was quite literally built for it. He dove in head first, focusing on the fun of creating music, and Jane’s Addiction was born. He talks about how the band was born and created an impact in the 1980s in this The Big Interview sneak peek. Don’t miss the full episode on Wednesday, January 6th at 8/7c on AXS TV.
