Rome Ramirez came up with the melody to “Lay Me Down” when he was playing his acoustic guitar in the passenger seat of the van that he lived in. He had the same management as Dirty Heads and his manager suggested that they teamed up for a track. They finally met up at the studio that Rome had his van parked out in front of for two weeks and they all immediately clicked together. After becoming fast friends, they all attended the same BBQ and decided to jam. That’s where Rome presented them with the chorus, the members of Dirty Heads wrote their verses, and after some trial and error (and a case of Corona beer), “Lay Me Down” was born. Check out their performance of the song above & don’t miss the full story behind this hit plus the rest of their catalog on The Song – Recorded Live @TGL Farms Thursday, August 13th at 8:30/7:30c!
