Did Charlie Daniels Write The Best Song About The Devil? | The Top Ten Revealed

October 19, 2020

Posted in: The Top Ten Revealed

When you meet up with the devil, you better hope you have a fiddle handy

This song could easily top several top ten lists: best fiddle solos, most iconic country songs, but this week, we’re talking songs about the devil, and Charlie Daniels definitely has that covered here. Daniels released the track in 1979 on The Charlie Daniels Band album, Million Mile Reflections. However the inspiration may have come from a poem that Daniels had read while he was in high school titled, “The Mountain Whippoorwill” that was written all the way back in 1925. This song peaked at #1 on the country charts, but where will it land on our top ten? We’ll reveal our list of the top ten devilish songs on an all new episode of The Top Ten Revealed this SUNDAY at 8/7c!
